How to Easily Read Tire Sizes
You may have seen a collection of letters and numbers on the sidewall in your tires. If you are confused by this code, don't be. This is simply some information that tells you about the tire. Here is a quick overview of how to read the information on your tire.
The first letter you will notice is the letter P. This indicates that the tire is for a passenger vehicle. Next, you will see three numbers. This is the width of the vehicle in millimeters. Next, you will find a number that gives you the aspect ratio of the tire. For instance, if the aspect ratio is 45. Then that means the tire's height is 45% of the width of the tire. Other important information includes the wheel diameter in inches and the speed rating of the vehicle expressed in a single letter.
